Monday, June 30th, 2008

We received a new sponsorship this past weekend from Graytock Enterprises.  Thank you to all that have sponsored!  Be sure to check out the sponsors page for a complete list of our sponsors.

Woods Work.

Monday, June 30th, 2008

More clearing was done today. Me and my buddy Josh wandered into the woods armed with a pole pruner, lopping shears, and a bow saw. We cleared some over hang on hole #2 along with a few things on the sides though more could still be done. On hole #3 we cleared more on the sides so that it’s a bit more fair and you can actually play out of the rough. Hole #4 needed and still needs the most work. We cleared out small stuff about 15 back on the right side of the fairway, the left side still needs work.

Work Update.

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

The final 4 baskets went in today and all 9 holes are now playable. All the holes now have new tee signs with all of our sponsors and all tees are marked with orange painted 4×4’s. At the entrance to the course is a brief rules sign explaining how the game is to be played. We will be on the course tomorrow to play through all the holes a few times and do any adjusting we need too.

We have received approval from the Kennedy Park Board to go ahead and install the remaining 4 baskets. This work is scheduled to be completed the weekend of June 28th & 29th.

New Tee Signs!

Check out all 9 tee signs.

Course Update!

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Pending the approval of the Kennedy Park Board the remaining 4 baskets will be installed this coming weekend June 28th & 29th. These baskets will be located in the more open section of the park by the baseball field and gazebo. We also plan to do more fairway trimming on the holes in the woods that have already been installed. We will also be making next tee signs to make it easier for new players to navigate the course.

We are also planning on having a day to introduce people to the game and the course once it is complete. Tentative plans are to have this event during Old Home Week in August.

Keep checking back for more Course updates.

An apology.

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

We would like to apologize to sponsors who were not mentioned in the June 4th 2008 Edition of the Forest City News. This article was not written by anyone involved with the Disc golf project and was written without our knowledge. Had we been asked who all of our sponsors were before the article was written no one would have been excluded. We sincerely appreciate all of our sponsors and would not deliberately exclude any of them from getting the recognition they deserve.
