About Forest City Disc Golf
During Old Home Week of 2007, we (a bunch of Forest City-area natives) got sick of missing so much of the Old Home Week fun by spending so much time driving to Prompton Dam or the Poconos every time we wanted to play a round of disc golf.
We had just finished putting on the first annual Old Home Week Pierogi Eating Contest, and we were thinking of ways we could improve it for 2008. What better way to solve two dilemmas at once than to put a disc golf course in our own (former) backyard?
Kennedy Park is the perfect location for a nine-hole course. We knew we could count on local businesses, government, and individuals for generous financial support in our mission to bring this fun, family-friendly sport to Forest City.
Forest City has been good to us over the years, and the sport of disc golf is a great way to give back to the area.
